80/20

I successfully uploaded the zip file on wordpress and got this message when I tried to activate the theme:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/72/9384772/html/wp-content/themes/eightytwenty/functions.php on line 65

I could easily be doing something wrong, as I tried to upload the entire zip file and couldn't do it. It did, however, take the zip file located in the wordpress folder within the original zip file.

Any help would be welcome. I'm a non-tech person, but know just enough to be dangerous!

Thanks

Thank you for choosing RockSolid Themes and for submitting your question, Cindi!

Yes, using the .zip file inside the .zip file is important. So you did everything correct, but your web space is running on an outdated version of PHP. Please either use the control panel of your provider to change the PHP version to 5.3+ yourself or ask your provider to update it for you. This isn't just necessary to run your RockSolid Theme without making changes, but also important in terms of security and performance. PHP 5.2 is now outdated for nearly three years, which is quite long measured in "internet time".

P.S.: If it shouldn't be possible for you or your provider to update PHP, contrary to our expectations, please get back to us and we're glad to provide you with a simple step-by-step guide to run 80/20 anyway. But again, updating PHP is a smart move.

Just in case you didn't yet discover it, the documentation for your theme is available here:
